is extremely beautiful
Among the many things to see don't miss those nearest... Historic itinerary around
Bellagio
A walk round the town to see the beauty of the old centre, and to see the things that are easily missed by those visiting for the first time. A brochure from PromoBellagio accompanies the visitor step by step. Itinerary around the Bellagio
districts
Starting from the Borgo (the historic centre) one can visit seven of the 22 districts of Bellagio in little more than two hours, some are hidden among the trees on the mountain slopes, others enjoy a dominant, panoramic position, right up to the last one, Pescallo, which is again on the lake. It is like taking a dive into nature, history and beauty, among olive trees, flowers, antiquities and views that know no equal. Balbianello Point
Dominated by the wonderful Villa Balbianello, once the home of the writer Silvio Pellico and the explorer Guido Monzino, and now owned by the FAI (Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano). Isola Comacina
The oldest settlement on the lake, rich in archaeological artefacts. It was once a rebel fortress and refuge, the theatre of naval battles between Milan and Como, and a prey of war under Barbarossa. Bellano
Famous for the Orrido, a gorge carved out of the rock by the waters of the Pioverna torrent which fall from the Valsassina valley on their way down to the lake. There the visitor can find the interesting fourteenth century church of S. Nazaro and Celso in the square of S. Giorgio in the oldest part of the village. Varenna
An ancient and characteristic fishing village below the castle of Vezio, the legendary home of Teodolinda the Lombard queen. Other jewels of this town are Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi. The mills of Perlo di Bellagio
About an hour’s walk from the town centre is a wonderful panoramic spot with a grand view of the lake. Chevrio-Makallé A lovely trip that takes about an hour and a half, with a superb view of the lake Piano Rancio A slightly longer walk (2h 30') which is rewarded by magnificent panoramic pastures covered in spring flowers. Monte San Primo (1650 m) A 360° view which ranges from the Alps to the Po Valley which the walker can earn after a 2 hour hike to the top (from the Alpe del Borgo) or in 25 minutes up to Rifugio Martina (from the Alpe delle Ville). In winter one can ski. Punta Spartivento in Bellagio
Only 10 minutes from the centre of Bellagio one can enjoy a magnificent view of the three banches of the lake and of the Prealpi mountains at Punta Spartivento (the “wind-dividing point”). ![]() Bellano - Orrido ![]() Isola Comacina(Ossuccio) ![]() Villa Balbianello(Lenno) ![]() Pescallo - Porto ![]() Bellagio - Salita Serbelloni ![]() Varenna - Panorama ![]() Visgnola - Chiesa di San Martino |
